Creative Nonfiction Subject Development

I would like to explore writing workshop methods in preparation for a new subject I am developing for the Literature section. This new subject explores creative nonfiction, a major segment of the contemporary book trade. I would like to study best practices in running writing workshops, using these practices to structure the design of this new writing-intensive class. I plan to observe a six-week writing workshop at a local writing center, conduct interviews with instructors at peer institutions, and study the most recent pedagogical research on writing workshops. I will also use the Education Innovation Funds to purchase recent exemplary work in creative nonfiction, which I will use when developing new assignments for the class.
