What you need to know

Special students are non-degree students who are taking classes at MIT for personal or professional reasons.

Some key points to remember:

  • Undergraduate special students — you are charged per unit when registering for credit or as a listener.
  • Graduate special students, including Sloan students, should contact the Advanced Study Program (ASP) for information about admission and tuition rates.
  • There are additional miscellaneous fees associated with registering at MIT.
