What you need to know

Prerequisites are used to indicate the sequence in which subjects are to be taken and the base of knowledge on which a particular subject will build. Corequisites are subjects that must be taken concurrently. Information on how to interpret prerequisites and corequisites is available in the MIT Bulletin.


What you need to do

  • Complete the prerequisite and corequisite section of the proposal form in our Subject Proposal Management application.
  • Once submitted, your proposal will need to be approved by the appropriate faculty committee(s). Review Proposing a Subject for more information.
