What you need to know

Student Veteran Success (SVS) is MIT’s dedicated point of contact for service members, veterans, and their dependents. We collaborate with offices across the Institute to ensure a smooth transition through your academic career and help you navigate your VA education benefits. We also serve as liaison between student veterans and state, local, and federal agencies, and assist you in achieving your personal and professional goals through advising, network building, and peer support.

MIT’s veteran population hails from every corner of the Institute and includes those who previously served in the active military, naval, or air service along with Active Duty, National Guard, Reservists, and spouses and children of veterans.

Annual drive

Each fall, SVS hosts a donation drive, in collaboration with MIT’s Community Service Fund.

The 2025 benefiting organization is Marine Toys for Tots Foundation, Middlesex and Essex County Chapters. Since its founding in 1947, Toys for Tots has become synonymous with the holiday season and has distributed 708 million toys to 314 million disadvantaged children through local non-profits and social service agencies.

To participate, bring new, unwrapped toys to one of our on-campus donation boxes located in 5-117, 76-158, E51-255, W59, or the lobby of E38. You can also make a contribution through Atlas by selecting Marine Toys for Tots (Middlesex and Essex Counties) as your recipient charity. MIT covers the credit card fees so 100% of your donation will go directly toward bringing holiday cheer to children in need.

This year's drive runs until Monday, December 15.
