What you need to know
The official title for special subjects should be brief and broad in focus. Both the catalog title and transcript title should identify the area of study. Avoid using the word “topics.” You may provide alternate titles and descriptions — outside of the Bulletin — to better inform students of the subject content. However, special subjects will be identified on students’ transcripts by the official title.
Examples of acceptable titles include:
- Special Problems: Physics
- Special Subject: Architectural Studies
- Special Seminar: Management
- Special Laboratory Subject: EECS
