Funding for increased involvement of Project Prakash in the 2020 offering of 3.008 Humanistic Co-design of Assistive Technology in the Developing World. We want support for a staff member to oversee opportunities for MIT engineering students who have passed 3.008 to continue offering their skills in service of the scientific and humanitarian work of Project Prakash, which offers free cataract surgery to underprivileged children living in India. Funded students would also become eligible to return to India with 3.008 as peer mentors to help the next generation of engineers learn to co-create useful technologies directly with people who have disabilities and advocacy organizations such as Project Prakash.
