This project develops a series of seminars on creative thinking for students enrolled in the New Engineering Education Transformation (NEET) project-based, cross-disciplinary curriculum in the School of Engineering The seminars will base creative thinking, one of 12 NEET Ways of Thinking, within a design process that can be applied across physical scales to devices, machines and systems. Seminar content will be developed by the School of Architecture and Planning in collaboration with SOE and will emphasis fresh thinking within a structure that includes context, concept, representation, fabrication, iteration and presentation. Iteration will embrace performance assessment with regard to object-based criteria and impact on society and the environment. Teaching methodology will include active learning appropriate to class sizes ranging from 20-100 students and pre-post assessment of student comprehension.
