The Pandemic helped us all to develop/evolve remote learning, and in the case of the Hobby Shop this actually helps to increase our ability to help people learn to make. To help even more students, we propose to develop a more robust teaching program for remote manufacturing in the Hobby Shop utilizing CAD/CAM and CNC software and machines. A mix of in person and remote teaching will increase access and understanding of the capabilities of using this software and digital machining. We will base our system on Autodesk Fusion 360 software which is free for educational use, to create a hybrid digital/physical teaching environment. Students can build digital files remotely and have them reviewed before coming to the shop to make their parts on a state of the art CNC machine center.
