Virtual production, motion tracking, motion capture, and hybrid, mixed-reality performance practices continue to transform the contemporary scene in opera, theater, dance, music theater, and other hybrid live performance idioms. I am writing to request $45,000 to support the acquisition of equipment to provide virtual production capabilities (especially motion capture and motion tracking) to our design and production classes in the program for Theater Arts broadly, and to my own Augmenting Opera and Live Cinema Performance classes in particular.
