Engineering Science of Emerging Technologies

We propose to develop a new course that helps bridge the fundamental sciences to engineering design, all the way, to functional integrated technologies. This provides an educational opportunity, currently missing from our curriculum, to train the future electrical engineers with the much-needed multidisciplinary understanding of the sciences to lead the design and engineering of solutions that address some of the most demanding technological challenges. To do so, we propose an interactive curriculum where fundamentals are addressed in a systems context. The aim is to make the conventionally abstract theoretical concepts, more tangible such that they can be utilized more intuitively by students in innovating the modern technologies.
