This project will build on the substantial investment made by MIT's Department of Mechanical Engineering every year in 2.007. The total budget for the course is around $275,000, which does not include salaries of the fulltime MIT employees. This course has two lead instructors, five full-time machine shop staff, seven lab instructors, three TAs, eight graders, and 12 undergraduate assistants. This project aims to supplement the investment by the Mechanical Engineering Department in order to make improvements to this critical learning experience for our students.
