In this project, we aim to leverage ongoing cutting-edge research in the Biological Engineering (BE) department at MIT to develop a teaching fellows program that incorporates near-peer project-based learning into undergraduate curriculum and builds a foundation to promote professional and educational development for graduate students and teaching staff. The goal is to expand upon the teaching assistant role by providing training to graduate student teaching fellows in curriculum development and assessment. In this we will accomplish three main objectives: 1. engage undergraduate students with near-peer taught project-based module, 2. advance undergraduate project-based curriculum, and 3. provide graduate students the opportunity to develop as educators.
