The project seeks to build production capacity for both Virtual Reality and Augmented as crucial elements in the Comparative Media Studies curriculum. It will do this by expanding hardware and software assets, relieving bottlenecks in current teaching, and by supporting visiting lecturers by the field’s leading developers and makers. The goals include: 1) hardware support for instruction of hands-on VR and AR courses; 2) support for extra-curricular student experimentation, whether through independent study or through CMS/W labs; 3) support for 4k video editing and the program’s newly acquired video cameras.
