This project supports teaching a class on the history of East Campus and adopts a pedagogical approach where students learn about history through historical practice. The class is designed to teach students about the histories and cultures of East Campus before the residence closes for two years of renovations. While the class was offered for the first time in Fall 2021, the instructor would like to improve the class and offer it again and make it possible for student research findings to be shared more broadly. Funds will be used to (1) offer an improved version of the class, (2) create the infrastructures needed to archive and share student findings, and (3) disseminate pedagogical findings to illuminate how classroom education can form part of campus renovation projects.
