Educating students, especially at MIT and leading universities, about the existential dangers of nuclear weapons is critical to our survival, since they are tomorrow’s technical and professional leader; they are the key to well-informed citizens, without whom a rational nuclear weapons policy will not be possible. The specific goal is to introduce the dangers of nuclear weapons into the early undergraduate curriculum in courses where this is currently not being done. We are working to set up one or more lectures, and possibly homework problems, in introductory courses is our primary goal. Usually this is not currently being done. At MIT we are working with the relevant faculty members to do this. We have also reached out to many universities and have found about two dozen faculty members.
